Founder & Lead Physiotherapist

Steve Sparks

Steve's career began with a Sport & Exercise Science degree at the University of Bath where he competed in track and field. It was here he had the honour of training with Jason Gardener and Colin Jackson under the tutelage of Malcolm Arnold.

Steve then went on to complete his Level 5 qualification in Sports Massage before returning to education and completing his degree in Physiotherapy at Southampton University. He started his career at Portsmouth FC working part time in the Academy with school boy and U18 age groups before moving to Southampton FC where he spent 10 years. It was at Southampton where Steve developed his specialist interest in movement, Pilates and rehabilitation. He qualified as a Kinetic Control tutor and completed an MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Keele. He has since lectured both within the UK and the Middle East.

Steve's last 5 years were spent at Manchester City where he was a member of the backroom staff supporting the team winning 4 Premier League titles in a row and the 'treble' which included the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

After almost two decades in professional sport Steve has decided to spend more time with his young family. Outside of private physiotherapy he also provides consultancy support for Manchester Utd, AFC Bournemouth and Salford City FC.

Steve also offers a clinic from Medicana Hospital in Winchester, and Geneviv Clinic in Belgravia London.

Outside of work Steve enjoys general gym work, hiking and spending time with his family.

Senior Physiotherapist

Mal Godtschailk

Mal’s entry into Physiotherapy followed a 10 year career in the military- during which he qualified as a ski instructor, team medic and parachutist – a career which was curtailed by a serious motorbike accident and involved 2 years of multiple operations and rehabilitation.  These experiences moulded his caring and supportive philosophy towards physiotherapy and the rehabilitation processes- and all the challenges that come with that.

His subsequent career in Physiotherapy has included 21 years in professional sports. After 5 years working in the NHS with musculoskeletal (general, spinal and shoulder/upper limb specialities), orthopaedics and rheumatology rotations, he began a 15 year career at Southampton Football Club, progressing from school-age players to U23’s Lead Physio.

During this time, he completed his MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Bath, working with Olympic swimmers, track and field athletes and Team Bath Rugby. After leaving football during COVID-19 , Mal was Lead Physiotherapist for England Women’s Cricket, attending the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as part of Team England, followed by Men’s Lead Physiotherapist at Hampshire Cricket, where he has been working ever since.

He is currently excited to be starting some private Physiotherapy work, part-time tutoring on the MSc Sports and Exercise Science and BSc Sports Therapy courses at Bournemouth University and maintaining links with local sports clubs. In his spare time, Mal enjoys cycling, swimming and general gym work around a busy schedule of sports clubs for his two young boys.
